Only original
manuscripts not submitted or published elsewhere and of
high standard will be accepted.
The manuscripts should be submitted in
English or German provided the chosen language is perfectly
correct. In case a manuscript is submitted by an author with
non English mother tongue a confirmation is required that the
final linguistic revision of the paper has been done by
a native English speaker. The acceptance of a
manuscript and the date of publication is a decision of the
Editor. An accelerated procedure with publication in the next
issue of Milchwissenschaft after acceptance is possible by
paying a page charge of 100.- EUR per printed page.

Letters
to the Editor are welcome, provided that they do not
exceed 400 words (not more than one table or one
figure).
The maximum length of the manuscript is
restricted to 3,200 words including the space needed for
figures and tables, i.e. 4 pages in the journal. The
manuscript should be divided into chapters,
e.g.: Abstract: in English
and - if possible - in German. The abstract should be
understood on its own and contain all relevant facts) min. 150
- max. 200 words. 1.
Introduction (and aim) 2. Materials and methods 3.
Results 4. Conclusions 5.
References
Tables should be
self-explanatory. Use no vertical lines and as few
horizontal lines as possible. The
width of the tables should be 85 or 170 mm (single or double
column). Example:
 Black and white diagrams: For high quality
reproduction, please, integrate your graphic files (figures)
into your file at the end of the text or send them as separate
files. |

If this is not possible the
diagrams have to be originals in a reproducible state (e.g.
laser print) submitted as camera-ready copies without outer
frame in a width of max. 80 mm. The size of the lettering
should be 1.5 to 2 mm. Use Arial characters (as in these
Instructions). Example:

 Photographs (if not integrated in the text
file) must be black and white with adequate contrast on white
glossy paper, width exactly 80 mm; in exceptional cases 165
mm. Coloured photos are welcome, if the additional expenses
(50.- EUR /photo) are paid by the author (prior agreement
required).
References to literature in the text
should be indicated by a number (in parentheses) taken from
the list of "References". An author's name mentioned in the
text should be written in capitals followed by the respective
number. References to papers from journals should read as
follows: (10) MEIER, H., ROY, L., MILLER, K.F.: J. Dairy
Sci. 39 (4) 312–317 (1982) References in books, monographs
etc.: (11) CRANZ, P., LONG, F.: In Dairy Technology (Ed.

After
acceptance of the paper the electronic files of
the manuscript, the tables and the figures (.doc, .xls, .ppt,
.bmp, .pcx, .jpg) will be requested.
The responsible
author will receive galley proofs. Corrections are
restricted to orthography, punctuation, and errors caused by
the compositor. Changes in wording will not be taken into
consideration.
Instead of reprints the author will
receive one copy of the issue publishing the
manuscript; on request the respective article can be e-mailed
for down-loading.
